Carving Axe - This axe has a thin double bevel ground bit for being able to make shallower cuts. Head weight is about 1.75lbs. The cutting edge is about 4.5 inches long and it has a 16 inch long hand carved ash handle. I forge these the traditional way, forging the body out of mild steel with a high carbon steel bit forge welded in for the cutting edge.
