Having a red dot mounted on top of a spotter is nice, but having to prairie dog your head to see through it is a pain. By keeping the red dot on the 3 or 9 o'clock its just takes a small chin lift to see through it with your non-dominate eye. And this keeps the near half of the rail for a data card or KestrelPictured is "Style - Left Side"
