There is no substitute for genuine Velcro-brand loop with 3M acrylic adhesive. It adheres well to composite and plastic canoes and kayaks, is very water and heat resistant, and won't "wrinkle" the way nylon/polyamide loop Velcro with rubber-based adhesive does.
