These botanical plaster cast pieces, or bas-relief tiles are handmade by me. The process begins by arranging the florals in clay, building walls around the piece, and pouring plaster into the mold. I let the plaster set for 24 hours on the clay and an additional 48 to 72 hours once pulled from the clay, depending on the thickness of the pour. The edges are sanded smooth and I amend the shape if I think it's necessary.I prefer imperfect forms, but can certainly do custom tiles in perfect rectangles, squares or circles.The tiles will change with each mold and will include seasonal flowers when available. These pieces are handmade and are not kiln fired. They are breakable and should be displayed inside and away from water. Each tile will come with a small wooden easel for display.
