Mokume-Gane Brooch

Artist Jen Tiger, Osage This brooch is made of Mokume-Gane, a mix of copper and argentium silver. Measuring 1.6 inches in diameter. Wear with a scarf or knit sweater to show off this stunning handmade accessory. Signed and dated by the artist on the backside.  A Japanese metalworking procedure which produces a mixed-metal laminate with distinctive layered patterns fuses several layers of differently colored precious metals together to form a sandwich of alloys called a "billet." The billet is then manipulated in such a way that a pattern resembling wood grain emerges over its surface.
