City Speak is a punk rock band from Mainz, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Founded during lockdown in 2020 by Anna(Black Square) and Corni (Black Lining, Keep It A Secret Records), their lineupis now complete with new guitarist Doni. The band’s debut record, “HoldingWater”, is set to be released on LP/CD/DG via Shield Recordings (NL), SnappyLittle Numbers (US), Cat’s Claw Records (UK) and Keep it a Secret Records(Germany) on August 22nd, 2024. Thematically City Speak prefers to stick to light fare (patriarchy, obedienceto authority, exploitation by multinational corporations), but still manage topose the seriously important questions (pineapple on pizza – yes or no?).
