Ink and Pigment Extraction

Sunday April 27, & May 4- 11am - 4pm  R A W Textiles Studio 8536 SE StarkPortland, Oregon 180.00 + 20.00 material fee Registration closes April 24 at 5pm pst This will be an exploration in earth and plant based pigment extraction that will give you the necessary techniques to create watercolor, oil, egg tempera, paints as well as creating inks that can be translated into your artistic practice. We will be using local harvested plants and minerals to garner pigments that can be used for mark making by identifying, collecting, and processing the gifts from this earth. Working in this manner can offer alternative ways to not only create unique colors but traceable methods that are earth conscious and tap into higher frequencies for art making.  *Session one will be focused on creating and garnering pigments as a basis for paint making. *Session two will be ink processes with various raw materials.
