Exquisite Antique Victorian Butter Dome

Here is a simply exquisite antique butter dome. The dome features the most striking finial handle and beautiful etched design of the most fabulous hanging baskets. It includes its original insert with a pierced start shape that would allow air to circulate around the butter as ice could be placed in the bottom compartment and butter could stay cool. Even the handle is intricately designed in a naturalistic way, and includes a butter knife holder on the opposite side. This piece was made in the Victorian era and is in excellent antique condition save for the outer rim of the dish has some tarnish as you can see in the photo. The rest of the pieces are in perfect condition. 8.5" w x 7.5" tall.
