Special note* Original box is not available. This delightful edition is titled "Teddy Roosevelt - Mississippi Bear Hunt." It depicts President Roosevelt refusing to shoot a bear cub while on a hunting expedition. According to the legend, this incident sparked the birth of the teddy bear in 1902. The rest, as they say, is (real) history! Teddy Roosevelt - Mississippi Bear Hunt measures 15" tall. The humorous caricature figure of Roosevelt is fully jointed and made of all-wool felt with a smiling portrait face, a mohair wig and moustache, and skillfully hand-painted facial features - including an open mouth with teeth. He is dressed in all-felt sporting outfit with a belt containing miniature metal bullets. His outstanding custom-made accessories include: hinged brass and crystal eyeglasses, hand cobbled leather shoes, and an authentically detailed replica rifle made of walnut and metal. In one hand he holds up a frightened, fully-jointed mohair bear cub with a leather nose and glass eye
