Copies held in the nine libraries listed in WorldCat are variously dated from 1904 to 1912. The second edition, published in 1920, is clearly marked as such on the title page and includes an additional preface. In addition to serving as the minister of the Union Church in Shanghai from 1899 to 1919, Rev.
