Coast Redwood Tree - Sequoia sempervirens
Coast Redwoods trees are the oldest and arguably the largest living trees on earth today. In its most preferred environment of foggy mornings and cold nights, it will attain up to 50 feet over many years. Spongy red brown bark bears flat leaves on horizontal branches. Sequoia sempervirens look amazing grouped in groves and even make a nice hedge given ample room. They love regular moisture and are good candidates for lawn use. Coastal redwoods thrive in full sun or partial shade and like to soak in the early morning dew. If you live in an area that doesn't have early morning fog, you can buy redwood trees and install misting tubes within the tree canopy, setting them on a timer to go on in the early morning for several hours to mimic their native environment.
