NIJ Level IV Body Armor Plate | ESAPI/XSAPI NIJ Level IV Body Armor Plate is the highest grade of body armor, surpassing the capabilities of Level III and better than Kevlar armor. The NIJ (National Institute of Justice) standard 0101.06 certifies this armor. This standard means the armor can withstand armor-piercing .30 caliber rounds traveling between 2,850 and 2,910 fps. The NIJ requirement is for the armor to withstand a single shot in a conditioned state. However, our Level IV plates have been tested and proven against multiple rounds from various full-automatic weapons. The Armor Plates are ergonomically designed with a real ESAPI Shooter's cut and body curve for accurate shooting and arm movement. We offer two sizes of plates: 10x12x0.9 in and 11x14x0.9 in, to fit any armor carrier in our lineup. Our Level IV armor plate is a standalone plate, meaning it can stop high velocity rounds by itself without the need for additional armor. The plates are constructed from dur
