Carving Wings from dense worm-holed rough-swan four by four cedar posts was a technical challenge and provided an essential education. The wood lengths were glued and cut into squares. Suddenly I saw four lined up end to end with a single wing carved down the length and I heard, "wings." I set forth to release from the wood what I heard and was seeing; God set forth to fashion in me a new mindset and thus we began. The carving has proven long and slow, just the right amount of time to receive the necessary revelation. I have a choice. I can continue to choose to charge straight forward in my own understanding and strive with all my might or I can operate from a place of rest and inquire of the Lord and take it easy. Letting go of striving and believing that the harder way is somehow the holier way has been a ridiculously difficult process. I am learning that nothing worth achieving can best be executed from a position of first resting in His presence and asking His opinion and help. Th
