Chanson Pere Fils Vire Clesse 750ml
In the heart of the Mâcon wine growing region, South of Burgundy. The two villages Viré and Clessé form a unique “terroir” on slopes facing South-East. In Viré, the soil is chalky with large layers of clay. In Clessé , the soil structure is slightly different with a combination of chalk and clay mixed with oyster fossils which convey to the wine a specific minerality. This is one of the best white wines of the region combining suppleness and minerality. From the well-drained and east-facing slopes of the valleys Bourbonne and Mouge, the wines of Viré-Clessé are famous for their delicate herbal notes. The nose makes an immediate impression with a bouquet of acacia, honeysuckle, lemon, white peach and mint. If you have the patience to age it a couple years, ripe aromas of quince jam and cooked apples will develop. Lively and fresh, with a sharp acidity, this wine is a perfect introduction to Mâconnais whites. Try pairing it with white meats in a creamy sauce, Carbonara, or Camembert and
