Les Foulards Rouges Frida is crafted in Roussillon's Aspres region, where Jean-François Nicq cultivates Carignan and Grenache varieties (including Gris, Blanc, and Noir) on sandy, granitic soils. These century-old, co-planted vines are low-yielding (10 hl/ha), concentrating flavors that reflect the Mediterranean environment. Nicq employs a meticulous, minimal-intervention approach, with destemmed grapes undergoing a cool, two-to-three-week fermentation with indigenous yeasts and zero added sulfites. The wine matures for six months in 500-liter barrels, allowing natural complexities to develop without filtration. This process results in a vivid expression of terroir, balancing fruit intensity with a distinct minerality and freshness.
