Frédéric Cossard's 2022 Chambolle-Musigny "Les Herbues" is crafted from Pinot Noir grapes from a 50-year-old lieu-dit vineyard in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits. The vineyard's clay and limestone soils contribute to the wine's finesse and minerality. Cossard employs organic and biodynamic farming practices, emphasizing minimal intervention. The hand-harvested grapes undergo whole-bunch fermentation with native yeasts, followed by aging in a combination of concrete eggs, earthenware jars, and Georgian qvevris. The wine is bottled without fining or filtration.
