
.30 Gov't '06 Standard Rifle - 1947
This "transition era" model 70 rifle is chambered in .30-06. The receiver and bolt are both marked with serial number 63915, indicating a 1947 manufacture date. Overall, this rifle appears to have been used very little, but it sustained some wear from handling and storage. This rifle grades in NRA very good condition. The stock has a few handling marks in the form of light scratches and scuffs and shallow dings. There are no notable cracks, splits, dents, or repairs. The checkering is clean, crisp, and unmarred. The stock retains its original finish and steel buttplate. The buttplate appears to have been cleaned up to remove some rusting; the finish is mostly gone, and the pitting is still visible. The metal finishes and parts appear to be original and in very good condition with no notable scratches or wear. There is scattered shallow pitting on the bottom metal, on the bolt handle, and a few spots on the barrel. This barrel has almost no wear but has shallow pitting near the muzzl
