Boat House, View from Beach

This was a painted sketch I did while on residency on Great Spruce Head Island in Maine.  This was the summer home of Fairfield Porter.  I had it on display last  Saturday in August at the Trumpet Gallery in Peterborough, NH.  If anyone is interested, I will be gallery sitting again in September and I can bring any of the paintings on my site for your viewing. I love plein air painting in summer.  The best time to see color and get a good design going. I try to capture a moment in time.
