Original silkscreen print by artist Peter Gee showing four panels, placed symmetrically and asymmetrically against each other. A model, thought to be Penelope Tree, is shown in a vaguely abstract manner. The inverted colors and psychedelic patterns of her dress and stockings make for an extremely cool visual. The color combination of blue, green, and bright pink, is quite lovely as well. Peter Gee was a British-born artist who rose to prominence as part of the 60s pop art movement in New York. Before moving to Manhattan in 1962, Gee had achieved moderate success in Europe. At 18, he joined the British army as a graphic designer, and soon after, his work was exhibited in the galleries of Paris and London. It wasn’t until New York, however, that Peter Gee’s now iconic style really took off.
