12.16.23 Intro to Brioche with Bristol Ivy

Saturday, December 16th - 10:00am to 1:00pm Brioche has been a popular technique in many modern knitting patterns.  It can be intimidating to try something new, but with a little guidance from a brioche baddie (Bristol knows her schtuff), you'll be knitting squishy knits in no time! This technique creates a lush, drapey, warm fabric. In this class you'll learn the basic principles of working brioche flat, identifying and fixing mistakes, and increasing and decreasing in pattern. Experience needed: knitting, purling, increasing, decreasing. Please bring a notebook and pen/pencil for taking notes. Homework: With smooth, non-haloed worsted weight yarn and US 7 [4.5 mm] circular needle, please cast on 24 stitches and work about an inch [2.5 cm] in k1, p1 rib, worked flat. Do not bind off. Make sure to leave at least another 70 yards [64 m] of yarn attached.
