Cinnamon Roll Aurora

This is the aurora the coined Ledvina's term 'Aurora Cinnamon Roll'. It looks like a cinnamon roll, doesn't it? Anyways, this photo was captured March 5, 2022 - Ledvina remembers the date because it was and still is one of the brightest and most unique auroral displays he has ever witnessed. That night, the NASA LAMP sounding rocket was also launched which he was involved in too! This photo was taken at an Air Force radar station (you can see the radar dome to the left-hand side of the image) where Ledvina worked for three weeks in 2022. He was responsible for running a few high-speed cameras that captured video of the pulsating aurora which the rocket flew through, like 'ground support' for the rocket team!
