Clematis stans is a species of flowering plant in the buttercup family, Ranunculaceae. It is native to Japan and known for its ornamental value in gardens. The plant features upright stems and alternately arranged leaves. The flowers of Clematis stans are particularly striking; they are nodding, bell-shaped, and usually a soft blue or violet color, appearing in late summer to early autumn. This species is sometimes grown in gardens for its attractive blooms and can be used in mixed borders or as a feature plant in garden designs.
