Regency lasted only between 1811 - 1820 and it was a period when King George III was deemed unfit to rule and his son ruled as Prince Regent. The Regency is noted for its elegance and achievements in the fine arts, architecture and fashion which was heavily influenced by the French. The Redingote is a long overcoat similar to a Pelisse and it does not close completely in the front.
