How Taurus SC Insecticide Works Taurus SC Termiticide Insecticide has the active ingredient fipronil that works similarly to other termiticides such as Termidor SC and Termidor Foam. It contains 9.1 percent fipronil, the active ingredient that's used in various liquid and foam insecticides. It attacks the target pest's central nervous system and slowly kills the insect over time. Some insecticides work on contact, eliminating the pest within a few minutes. Taurus does the opposite by giving the pest enough time to transfer the active ingredient back to the nest where it infects other members.
