About the Design Santorini originated as a hand drawing in pen and watercolor, all in blue. We had just visited Santorini and the morphing from dark blue to almost-white reminded me of the colors there. The pattern itself is based on traditional 10-fold Islamic patterns, and was study of sorts for me, to explore the relationships between several patterns in this family that share the same underlying structure. I was so pleased with the result that I recreated it digitally so that I could offer it as a limited edition digital art in a variety of color schemes. This version features a purple color scheme.
