Very dark wine-purple with a black velvet overlay on the falls. The petal edges are biscuit and nicely ruffled. Light yellow dotting from the throat to the shoulders. The styles are also biscuit with bright yellow beards that stand out like beacons in the night. Wavy ruffling with purple tinted well branched stalks. Grows to 30" and blooms early to mid season. Iris rhizomes are best divided and transplanted after the plants finish blooming and have enough time to store nutrition in their roots. July through September is the best time to dig them up in Ohio. All Iris are grown on my farm and shipped from my home, bareroot with foliage and roots attached.
