HP C7973A LTO-3 Backup Tape Cartridge (400GB/800GB)

The HP C7973A is a LTO-3 Ultrium tape cartridge with a native storage capacity of 400 GB and 800 GB of compressed data. Transfer rates for this tape is 80 MB/s native and 160 MB/s compressed. Thus in matters of speed and capacity, C7973A tape continues the LTO legacy of doubling the specifications over the previous generation. The number of tracks has increased to 706 which were 512 previously.   Long Term Reliability HP's continuous testing program ensures not only that tape remains compatible with all LTO-3 tape drives by all manufacturers, but also that media lasts for up to 30 years and for at least 260 full backups. The HP C7973A Ultrium 3 tape has of 680m lengthy tape and uses a PEN (Polyethylene Naphthalate) as its tape formulation. Self-cleaning capabilities make itself efficient and also features the LTO-CM (Cartridge Memory) for faster access.
