1943-5 Black Sheaffer Triumph Admiral fountain pen
The Sheaffer Triumph nib has a well earned reputation for being stiff as a nail. They are lovely writers but have no bounce. There are a few very rare flexible Triumph nibs. Very rare. They were special ordered and custom made at the factory. The Triumph 59 nib is the closest approximation to flexible as you'll find in the standard nibs of the Triumph, Touchdown and Snorkel lines. It isn't at all flexible. But, it has a little bounce. It may seem flexible compared to a standard Triumph nib. It gives subtle line variation under normal writing pressure. It's no Feather Touch 5. But for anyone who has used a regular Triumph it will make you grin and start thinking of all your favorite words with loops and descenders. Sheaffer is a good one, in case you're taking notes. The pen is in nearly perfect condition. The color and clarity of the transparent barrel are, indeed, perfect. The greenish, factory fresh hue of the ink window is still there. The celluloid is without blemish as is the trim
