The Wajima-nuri and Suki-urushi techniques, traditional crafts from Wajima City, Ishikawa Prefecture Japan, are used to finish the zelkova wood frame of this clock. This not only creates a durable coating and smooth surface, but also highlights the natural grain of the wood. The clock hands are painted with a gloss, matching the lacquer finish of the clock, and the numerals and indicators on the face are raised with a special printing process.
