'Only He Can Heal My Broken Heart' Print

A detailed print of my original painting titled ‘Only He Can Heal My Broken Heart' This painting is for the fourth word of the year, which is ‘healing’. This was one of the most requested words of the year for 2024. When I read this word, I was reminded of a scripture I love in Ezekiel 36:26 which reads ‘I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit will I put within you’. I knew in this piece I wanted the Savior to be giving a new, healed heart back to this woman. A heart that she thought was broken beyond repair, but that the Savior took in his healing hands and made new. In this piece you can see that the heart has been repaired with Kintsugi. Kintsugi (金継ぎ) is a Japanese pottery technique that I love to incorporate into my artwork. When the piece is put back together, the cracks are highlighted with a lacquer, rather than being disguised. Pottery repaired with Kintsugi is considered even more precious and valuable than it was before.  I feel like the word ‘healing’ really captures
