They are the largest of the bovine family and their numbers have been decreasing significantly over the years due to poaching, and the Mt. Kenya Wildlife Department is engaged in a breeding program to increase their numbers. Kangarooi supports the Save the Bongo Project, and a portion of every purchase of Kangarooi products goes to feed the mountain bongos.
