
Cleistocactus straussii - Silver Torch Cactus
The Silver Torch Cactus, also known as the Cleistocactus straussi or a "snow pole", is a smaller multi-column cactus growing to be 6 to 8 feet tall and is native to dry deserts and foothills of Bolivia and Argentina. The stems are ribbed and covered with dense white or silver-colored spines, giving the cactus a distinctive and woolly appearance. Reddish pink tubular flowers emerge in late Spring to early Summer. Currently, we have one Silver Torch Cactus in stock with 2 stalks, and a small volunteer cactus of another species. Growing in a 6" Grower's pot, it is currently 16" tall on one stalk and 12" on the other. We will ship to 48 continental United States. Cold Tolerance:Cleistocactus strausii is adapted to high-altitude environments and is more tolerant of cooler temperatures than some other cactus species.
