14' Rat Fink - Fink & FURRY-OUS Underground Racing Slot Car Set | SRS347 | Auto World 1970 Dodge Challenger "Mr. Gasser" (Xtraction) 1970 Dodge Charger R/T "Rat Fink" (Xtraction) In the late 1950's, artist Ed Roth received national attention for his twisted, surreal designs, which he printed and sold on T-shirts. Called "Weirdo shirts," the style caught on among enthusiasts at car shows across America in what's known as the "Kustom Kulture Scene"  Ed "Big Daddy" Roth needed a mascot to promote his custom car kits and art brand, so he created a grotesque green/grey rat with wild eyes and sharp teeth-an intentional opposite fo that other wholesome "family style" mouse, which Roth detested. Rat fink is a character not even a mother could love - crazy eyes, warped body, gaping mouth, and greasy overalls, emblazoned with his "R.F." initials. Rat Fink, immediately caught on after appearing in a Car Craft magazine ad in 1963, showing up on shirts, toys, stickers, and much more. Mr. Gasser
