"Lingua Franca, Litanies, and Lemon Blossoms": Generative Poetry Workshop with Lena Khalaf Tuffaha on June 30, 2023

1 Session: Friday, June 30 from 1-3pm PT In-Person Max: 5 people COURSE DESCRIPTION: Join me for a generative workshop in which we will explore and delight in the sounds, textures, and etymologies of words. I’ll share poems and prompts inspired by my new book, Kaan and Her Sisters (Trio House Press) and practices to “tune in” to the words and lines we collect and cherish and to bring them to the page to help us draft new poems. About the Instructor: Lena Khalaf Tuffaha is a poet, essayist, translator and teaching artist. She is the author of three books of poetry, Water & Salt (Red Hen), winner of the 2018 Washington State Book Award, Kaan and Her Sisters (Trio House, 2023), and Something About Living, winner of the 2022 Akron Prize for Poetry, forthcoming in 2024. Her work has been published in journals including Adroit, Michigan Quarterly Review, the Nation, and New England Review.
