Blanton's Red Label is a premium expression crafted specially for the Japanese Export Market with one unique difference: it is aged an additional two years. It is crafted with Mash Bill #2, a sour mash of corn, malted barley, and extra rye, before maturing in American White Oak casks. The nose on this one is fruity and sweet with bright hints of cherry, mingled with rich caramel, dried oak, honey and vanilla. On the palate you'll find subtle hints of honey, layered with fennel, licorice, ginseng, dry citrus peel, and cinnamon. The finish is silky, and smooth with powerful oak influence, blended with honey, herbs, and all spice. Color: Quite translucent. Seems heavily filtered. Nose: Sweet with notes of maraschino cherries, vanilla, plum, orange peel, and mild oak. Palate: Balanced with notes of leather, orange crush, black tea, red hots, and tannic oak.
