The Gladiators were Cleveland's second foray into the Arena Football League, after the Thunderbolts (1992-1994). The team began in New Jersey as the Red Dogs in 1997. They changed their name to Gladiators in 2001 and moved to Las Vegas in 2003. In 2007, they settled in Cleveland and folded with the rest of the league in 2019.
