Background This Philodendron is an unnamed selection of Philodendron hederaceum oxycardium variety with a naturally occurring whole plant mutation. In 1991, the inventor, Ruben Ernesto Acosta, discovered the new Philodendron specimen in a controlled environment in Holambra, Brazil, as a single plant within a planting of an unnamed selection. This plant was chosen because of its distinctive green and yellow green variegated foliage.
