
Viking Dragon Helm of Awe Hair Beard Comb
This Viking hair/beard comb features a Fafnir, the infamous Dragon, with the Helm of Awe in ancient bronze patina. Measures 3 3/8 x 2 inches Fafnir was an infamous Norse Dragon written about in Fáfnismál, a poem in the Poetic Edda. Fafnir was the son of the Dwarf King Hreidmar who was cursed by another dwarf named Andvari who turned Fafnir into a dragon. Fafnir's invincibility was attributed to his use of the Helm of Awe which paralyzed his prey before striking but was ultimately slayed by Sigurd. Helm of Awe, Ægishjálmr in Old Norse, was used to strike fear in the hearts of the enemy.
