Buckminster Fuller (July 12, 1895 – July 1, 1983), affectionately called “Bucky”, was an engineer, author, designer, inventor, and futurist. He published more than 30 books, inventing and popularizing terms such as "Spaceship Earth" and synergetics. He is best known for his invention of the geodesic dome.
