Paul Laurence Dunbar Ornament

Paul Laurence Dunbar is one of American history's most important black poets, playwrights, and authors. Although he died at 33, he left an extensive collection of works. Frederick Douglass even once stated that Dunbar was "the most promising young colored man in America."
