Serenity - The Loon

Minnesota's State Bird: the Loon. Often spotted on top of a glazed lake.  The call of the loon is often heard in a place of calm and quiet.    All pottery is hand-thrown. Individually decorated and glazed. Surface design is painted in reverse with velvet underglaze, transferred to a leather hard mug that has a base slip color. Designs are then subtracted from the surface with various tools, carving away to enhance the painting & showcase the raw clay. Speckled Buff Stoneware: tan/buff color  with brown and black specks  Cone 6, food safe glaze, AP label Appr. 3.25" high x 4" wide Capacity 12 - 14oz.
