Description: Offered is an early stool designed by the famous Jens Risom for the Knoll company, a mid-century company beloved for their cutting-edge furniture designs. Originally designed during WWII era, Risom overcame wartime supply shortages by using parachute webbing for the stool seat. This mid-century modern stool is a testament to an impactfully unique time in the world and separately, is a beautifully simple work. History: Jens Risom, was born and trained in Denmark. He began his furniture design career in Copenhagen before immigrating to the US in 1939. There he was honored as Knoll's first designer in its commissioned collection and Risom did not disappoint. By 1996 the beloved designer was even knighted by Queen Margethe of Denmark. Condition: Overall good condition. Some general wear, as expected with age and use, including scuffing at the feet and fading and minor fraying on the webbing. Otherwise, no notable damage.
