British-India - A fold-out interiors brochure from 1957 for two of B.I.'s three "S" sister ships that sailed the Calcutta to Japan route, SANGOLA and SANTHIA.   The third sister, SIRDHANA, had recently been transferred to the Bombay to Persian Gulf route to replace the bomb-destroyed DARA. Besides portraits of both stately sisters, b&w photos unidentified as to ship show for First Class the Smoking Room, Lounge, Dining Room, Saloon Deck, and a two-berth cabin.  Second Class images cover the Lounge, Dining Room, and a three-berth cabin.   The sisters carried two-thousand (!!!) "natives" on deck.  SANGOLA went to the scrappers in 1963 while SANTHIA lasted until 1977.   Good condition.
