It lends itself to definitely giving some different emotions. I think it’s very bold and striking. It works well with the beautiful figure and tone of the maple wood as well. There is some beautiful figure in the bowl. I do love the idea of having two contrasting surfaces to look at. The outside draws you into the inside. Gives the feeling of a second skin for the wood.  Size - 2-3/8” tall by 13.75” diameter.
