Carex cherokeensis, known as Cherokee sedge, is indigenous to the southeastern and southcentral United States. This sedge produces ornamental, slightly spreading tufts (6-12” tall) of fine, slim, grass-like, deep green foliage. It is appreciated in outdoor spaces for its visual impact. Pale greenish-white blooms appear in spring but are minor.
