ARMENIAN QUARTER OF JERUSALEM

It sheds light not only on how this occurs in contemporary circumstances but on how a number of sacred places such as Jerusalem harbor and perpetuate such groups. It gives us some insight on how older, traditional Middle Eastern cities must have functioned - indeed, probably still do in some respects. It includes a subtle analysis of how the sacred and the profane can still be subsumed together in community forms.
