Long Red Cayenne Pepper Seeds

75 open-pollinated, non-gmo, pesticide-free, and heirloom Long Red Thin Cayenne Pepper Seeds (Capsicum annuum) per packet. Produces long, thin, and curled peppers that grow to 6 in long. Grows to 40,000 Scoville Heat Units at maturity of 70 days. Starts as green and turns a bright red color as they age. Hot pepper with a lasting burn. Great for drying, sauces, canning, cooking, and sauces. Originate from French Guiana, South America and believed to be discovered by Christopher Columbus.  Start seeds indoors as early as 8 weeks before last frost 0.25 in into pots. Maintain soil temp to 80-85F to germinate, 7-14 days. Use grow light or provide sunlight for 12+ hours a day. Transplant outdoors when soil temp is 65F during the day and over 50F at night. Harden off to cold for a week before transplanting outdoors. Grows well in soil, containers, or bed. Mulch to control weeds and conserve moisture. 70 days to maturity.
