
R.E.M. Monster RIAA 4x Platinum Award
RIAA 4x Multi-Platinum Album award for R.E.M. album Monster. Released on Sept. 27, 1994, it was certified 4x Multi-Platinum for four million copies sold on Aug. 10, 1995. The album included R.E.M. classic "What's the Frequency, Kenneth?" and other singles included "Bang and Blame", "Strange Currencies", and "Tongue", all of which went into the top 20 in the U.K. The album hit #1 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart and also topped the charts in Canada, the U.K. and six other countries.
