Robert the Robot circa 1954 Manufactured by Ideal Robot dimensions: 355 H x 205 W x 160 D mm Robert the Robot is one of the first plastic toy robots. It has a wired remote control that, with the use of a crank, makes him move forward. By pulling the trigger on the remote he walks left or right. His eyes light up with a red knob on his chest used as an on/off switch. Robert features a crank on his back which when turned says “I am Robert Robot the mechanical man. Drive me, and steer me where ever you can. I am Robert Robot”. His spring loaded hands permit him to hold objects, his arms can be manually adjusted.
