Pinus sylvestris 'Green Penguin'Rare Dwarf "Green Penguin" Scots Pine Tree Zones 3-8b This conifer is quickly becoming one of our favorite little trees at our nursery. 'Green Penguin' has a small narrow stature that makes it look like a little bright green penguin standing there in your garden. How fun is that! This is surely a tree that women, children, and everyone will love in the landscape. Found by Jim Lewis of J Farms, this little dwarf scots pine retains bright green new growth color year-round. The tight dense habit reaches 4 ft in height by 2 ft wide in 10 years at an average growth rate of 2-4 inches per year. While 'Green Penguin' is slow growing, it is very hardy. J Farms boasts that this little dwarf has out-performed many other trees in cold zones such as Duluth, MN.
